The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association(BLTA) commends Danielle Thompson on a very successful launch of the “Lets Play Tennis” Program. The program consists of weekly tennis clinics targeted at competitive female tennis juniors. To date, approximately 15 female juniors have participated.
The former top tennis collegiate at D1 rated Morgan State and 2019 Bahamas Fed Cup(now Billy Jean King Cup) player is dedicated in her service to the sport of Tennis. Impacting the lives of the many female juniors who need mentorship on the tennis pathway was Danielle’s impetus for this initiative. The program is fully supported by the BLTA and the free sessions are conducted at the National Tennis Centre (NTC).
The BLTA recognizes that these giveback sessions are advantageous to the tennis growth of our juniors. In the numerous sessions held since the beginning of the year, our young juniors have benefited from Danielle’s wealth of tennis knowledge and her skill. The sessions have been very interactive, inspiring, and fun arming the ladies with the skills and tools they need for their tennis advancement. Danielle is enjoying this opportunity to share and guide the juniors. Former tennis collegiate Erin Strachan who has represented the country in tennis on national teams has also joined in to assist Danielle with the Let’s Play Tennis program.
The BLTA is appreciative of Danielle for this wonderful giveback program and all of the persons who continue to come forward to contribute to the growth of the sport and the building up of our athletes. Ongoing sessions are scheduled and this is a tennis opportunity of a lifetime. Interested female tennis juniors can register to participate via email
