On Friday past, The Bahamas World Tennis Juniors National Team (Boys) secured another win and defeated Curacao 3-0 to advance to the Consolation Final yesterday!
Anthony Burrows Jr. continued his great play from the day before winning over his opponent 6-2, 7-6. Michael Major Jr. came up next with the Bahamas winning the second match in three thrilling sets 6-2, 6-7 (10,7).
Dentry Mortimer Jr. would join the action in doubles teaming up with Anthony. They were successful in three sets 4-6, 6-4, 14-12. Yesterday, The Bahamas faced El Salvador again for a chance to win the Consolation Final but fell short. El Salvador won the final matchup 2-1.
The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association congratulates Michael, Anthony and Dentry along with Coach Godfrey Bowe on a good effort in competition and for representing The Bahamas well. The Team returns home today. Our Girls’ World Juniors Team departed yesterday to participate They begin matchplay tomorrow in the Dominican Republic. Representing The Bahamas in this event are Kaylee Kanuka, Sierra Rodgers and Jianna Munroe. More to come on this tournament.
