The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association announces Mr. Perry Newton Jr., assisted by Mr. Wesley Rolle, will head the Junior Development Program for the national association. The approval of appointment was unanimous at this month’s Board Meeting.
Mr. Newton has held various posts in the Tennis arena, inclusive of Public Relations Officer, Treasurer and Council Member of the BLTA and Director and Treasurer of the National Tennis Centre.
Perry firmly believes in the vehicle of sports to provide focus and growth. “It is never too late to start and if you do it, do it properly” are two of his beliefs. The junior development aim is to provide viable opportunities and to develop young persons in the sport.
Mr. Wesley Rolle who will assist Mr. Newton in the junior development platform is a veteran to the sport of Tennis. He is a former player, a respected coach and a Past President of the BLTA. Mr. Rolle also serves as a current Council Member of the BLTA.
