The Bahamas is competing at the ITF/Cotecc Sub Region 3 U12 Team Competition in Dominican Republic. Countries competing include Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Cuba, Dominican Republic and The Bahamas. The best of the best in the Caribbean and Central American region in the U12 Division will compete in Santo Domingo.
The Bahamas Girls and Boys Team saw action already and the results are as follows:
Boys Won 2 – 1 over Jamaica:
Kingston Rees #2 singles lost 4-6, 6-3, 0-6
Patrick Mactaggart #1 singles won 6-4, 6-0
Doubles: Patrick and Noah won 7-5, 4-6, 10-2
Girls 0 – 3 to Cuba and Dominican Republic
Day 1: S’rae Rodgers #2 singles lost against Cuba, 6-4, 0-6, 3-2 Retired
Marina Bostwick #1 singles lost 0-6, 1-6
Doubles: Marina and Caitlyn played, and lost (not sure of the score).
Day 2 Against the Dominican Republic:
Caitlyn Pratt #2 singles lost 5-7, 3-6
Marina Bostwick #1 singles lost 4-6, 2-6
Doubles: S’rae Rodgers and Marina played, lost 0-6, 3-6
The Girls will face Puerto Rico next in round-robin play. The Boys had a rest day on Monday but will face the Dominican Republic on Tuesday.
The Girls Team consists of Marlon Bostwick, Caitlyn Pratt, Srae’ Rodgers and Coach Sharon Greene.
The Boy’s Team consists of Patrick Mactaggart, Kingston Rees, Noah Russell and Coach Artie Johnson. The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association
