Bahamian Tennis Hall of Famer and former Fed Cup player Kim O’Kelley conducted a tennis clinic at the National Tennis Centre(NTC). An invitation went out to all intermediate and advanced players to participate in the clinic as Coach Kim imparted her tennis knowledge to the juniors. Dentry Mortimer Jr, Michael Major Jr, Maddison Bowleg, Breann Ferguson, Miguel Smith, Marlee Martin, Alyssa Thurston and Cameron Ferguson were all in attendance at the two-day clinic.
Coach Kim was a former BLTA junior development head and now coaches in the United States. She was pleased to instruct, interact and direct the kids in drills. She shared tips on hydration, match preparedness and in-game insights.
The President of the Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association, Perry Newton thanked Coach Kim who conducted a great tennis clinic for the juniors at the NTC, “We appreciate her willingness to take time out of her busy schedule to conduct this free clinic to assist our juniors in their tennis journey.” The juniors also expressed their thanks to Coach Kim. We encourage others who have the same desire to give back and willingness to share their talents with our younger generation of players to contact us as this will make the tennis landscape better and our nation stronger.
