Tennis Exhibition in Nassau:
On Saturday past, Southwest Tennis Club in conjunction with the other Sporting Clubs at the Flamingo Gardens Park held an all-day Saturday exhibition to showcase the talented youths who are engaged in the community’s year-round programs. These programs are facilitated by dedicated volunteers.
There were a number of honorees and for tennis, Kevin Major Jr. was recognized for his previous Davis Cup matchplay and for the
encouragement and support he has provided to the Club, the community and the country.

Tennis Program in Freeport:
Coach McArthur Rigby led a fun tennis session at the High Campbell school in Freeport, Bahamas. The kids are beginners to the sport and this was the second week of tennis for the youngsters. Coach Rigby was pleased with how quickly the kids assimilated to the sport. He is very excited to transfer the joy and knowledge he has of the sport.
Coach Rigby is a recent participant of The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association Tennis Coaching Course held in March this year.
Coach Rigby also assists with the Grand Bahama Tennis Association’s (GBTA) Saturday school program. The program started in May and focuses on kids ages 7 and up with a number of participating schools.
The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association commends Coach Mike Butler and the Southwest Club, the GBTA and Coach McArthur Rigby in their efforts to advance tennis in The Bahamas.
