Our Girls’ Team competed at a very high level at the ITF/COTECC U12 Team Competition Sub Region 3 in the Dominican Republic capturing the 3rd spot. We congratulate BreAnn Ferguson, Saphirre Ferguson and Jalisa Clarke for representing The Bahamas well!
The other two top finishers were Puerto Rico (1) and Jamaica (2). Our girls participated amongst some of the most talented juniors in this region and they came out shining brightly. Their play was described as “dominant and consistent” by Coach Marion Bain.
The Boys ended tournament play yesterday and we also congratulate them for representing well. Coach Jared Turnquest said “I was extremely proud of the way our boys played this week. They played with intensity and grit and didn’t back down.”
The Boys’ Team played some great tennis and also competed at a high level. The team members for the Boys included Jackson Mactaggart, Khai Rees and Jerald Carroll. With two new persons debuting for The Bahamas in team competition, their level of play was indeed commendable and we know they will only continue to improve.
The future of tennis is very bright!
