Final BLTA update from the 2016 WJT North/Central America & Caribbean Pr-Qualifiers in San Salvador, El Salvador:
Our boys’ team of Jacobi Bain, Kofi Bowe and Denali Nottage played well but were defeated today by the number one seeded team in the tournament Guatemala. Kofi Bowe fell to Dominguez 0-6,0-6. However, Jacobi Bain played well throughout the tournament but today was also defeated in two sets byTaracena3-6, 1-6. The duo of Jacobi Bain and Denali Nottage lost in two straight sets 1-6 and 3-6.
Our girls lost also in the consolation finals against Aruba. Donesha started the team off strong by defeating Groen 6-4, 6-4 and Emma followed with a very tough performance but was defeated by Solagnier in 3 sets 4-6,6-1, 2-6. Doubles team of Weech and Mackey fought hard to push to three sets but lost 4-6,6-3 and 10-8.
Two Great Wins In El Salvador for The Bahamas Girls and Boys U14 Team
We congratulate both teams for a stellar performance at World Juniors as our boys made it to the finals against defending champions – Guatemala and our Girls played a close one in the Consolation finals and lost to Aruba.
