The Winterbotham IC Junior Series was held this past weekend at the National Tennis Centre. The tournament was sanctioned by the Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association. Talented boys and girls in the U10 and U12 categories participated in this debut event of the 2020 junior tennis season.
The winners this past weekend were:
U12 Boys
Jackson won the U12 division vs Khai Rees 6-4,6-3,
Jerald Carroll finished 3rd.
U12 Girls
Millie Beukes won over Breanna Houlgrave 6-3,6-4. Kayla Fox finished 3rd.
U10 Boys
Alec Hooper won over Cohen Knowles. Cameron Ferguson finished 3rd.
U10 Girls
Sarai Clarke won over Marlee Martin. Maya Ravi finished 3rd.
Organizer Neil Mactaggart spoke about the tournament “It went well. The kids behaved well and we see the level of play continue to elevate.” The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association congratulates the IC Bahamas team on another successful junior event and extends congratulations to all the winners and participants. We also wish to acknowledge the title sponsor of the IC junior series, Winterbotham.
The next tournament in the IC Junior Series is slated for April 2020.
