Our 12U team girls’ team consisting of Emma Weech and Perjae Major, Denali Nottage and Anthony Burrows Jr. returned home after competing in the international tennis tournament in Curacao. Our girls finished 4th, falling short of the opportunity to play in the Masters Event in Mexico in November 2015. Our boys’ team consisting of Denali Nottage and Anthony Burrows Jr finished 6th. Both Curacao’s boys and girls’ teams won the gold. Barbados came in 2nd for the girls and Aruba 3rd. For the boys, Jamaica placed 2nd and St. Lucia 3rd.
We salute the hard work of Emma Weech who was undefeated in all of her singles matches in this tournament and we also congratulate our three (3) first-timers Denali Nottage(Freeport), Anthony Burrows and Perjae Major who played extremely well. Matchplay was extremely competitive and they all showed positive abilities that will continue to develop. We expect great things from all of them as their tennis journey continues.
