The Bahamas surges back after a loss on Wednesday to host country, Costa Rica. Playing the US Virgin Islands yesterday The Bahamas emerged victoriously!
Up first Philip Major Jr would face Russell Amstrong and would win decisively 6-0 6-2. Baker Newman would play the second Rubber giving up the same amount of games to the opponent winning 6-2 and with a shut out set in the second set 6-0. Justin Lunn and Donte Armbrister would team up for The Bahamas once again with improved games but coming up short 4-6, 5-7.
The Team will play Puerto Rico today. A win will give the country an opportunity to play on Saturday in the playoffs for the 3rd position
which would place them in ideal contention to advance to the next group in 2020. According to the Davis Cup Regulation 24.4, up to three (3) nations may be promoted.
The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association wishes the team of Baker, Philip, Justin, Donte and Coach Marvin Rolle much success as they make a final push to secure a ticket to Group 2.
