In recent international tennis, futures play held in Greece The Bahamas had good representation. Philip Major made it past the first round in the Qualifyings at the 8th Hellenic Zeus ITF Pro Circuit where he defeated Bartley 6-1,6-3 but was defeated second round from Addison of Australia in the third set tie break. Joshua Turnquest also competed in Greece Futures and was defeated from Reinwein of Germany 2-6,2-6. In the previous week Jody Turnquest competed in the Futures 3 in Greece, Jodi won his first-round qualifying match against Corns of Russia in three sets but fell to Gombic or Croatia in the second round. Turnquest and Major also played in this tournament but did not advance past the first round of the qualifyings.
On the women’s side, Iesha Shepherd debuts on the Futures scene in Greece. Iesha played against Marnellou of Greece and won in two sets 7-5,6-0 but lost in the second round to Cheli of France in the qualifyings. In the previous week, Iesha also played well in the F3 Tournament in Heraklion but lost to Homutova of Latvia in three sets. The Bahamian touring team of Philip Major, Joshua Turnquest, Jody Turnquest and Iesha Shepherd continue their great play in Europe in the upcoming weeks.
