Sydney Clarke has received a National Letter of Intent from the University of Alabama Birmingham. Sydney is the Number 1 Junior (female) in the country peaking in the 200s in the International Tennis Federation’s ranking with a number of singles and doubles’ titles under her belt. Sydney is also the 2018 Bahamas Open Nationals Women’s champion.
Sydney is the recent recipient of Junior Female Athlete of The Year Award at the Ministry of Youth Sports Award. Sydney has served on
numerous national teams including most recently on the 2018 Fed Cup in Peru this year.
A representative from the University stated “We are very excited to have Sydney join our Blazer family. “Not only does she bring an impressive junior record with her, but more importantly, she comes with strong character and she emulates the same values that our team embraces.”
The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association congratulates Sydney on this achievement and wishes her the best on her college tennis journey. Sydney has been an exemplary tennis junior and has raised the bar in junior tennis in The Bahamas.
