The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) extends condolences on the passing of Mr. Peter Phillips. Mr Phillips was President of the BLTA from 1985-86 and was very instrumental in tennis in the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
IC Bahamas President and former BLTA president Mr Kit Spencer stated “Peter with other close former Caribbean Tennis Players initiated and spearheaded The Brandon Veterans Tennis Championships 40+ years ago, which was subsequently re-named in his honour as The Peter R. Phillips Veterans Tennis Championships (PRP). Peter’s commitment to tennis and Veterans Tennis will forever remain indelible in our hearts and we will miss him, not only as a tennis player but as a great friend.”
