The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association crowned the Champions at its 2023 AID Junior National Championships. We witnessed extraordinary growth as over 90 players participated and over 175 matches were conducted! In addition, there was a huge show of support from the spectators on hand to witness a great display of junior talent. This year’s tournament was possible with the support of our titled sponsor AID. We thank you for your continuous investment in tennis and in our nation’s youth.
AID representative Mrs Janelle Davis was on hand along with BLTA President Perry Newton to present the winners with their trophies. Mrs Davis spoke at the medal ceremony encouraging the players and the BLTA to keep up the good work. The BLTA congratulates all the participants in the tournament. Job well done! We thank all the organizers, the tournament director Tara Mactaggart and the tournament referee Esther Newton along with the volunteer umpires for their hard work and service during the entire tournament. The BLTA recently trained a group of tennis umpires who graciously volunteered their time and talent during the Nationals. We appreciate each of you who continue to assist and build up tennis.
The 2023 AID Junior Tennis Championships was a huge success and we are grateful to God that another Junior Nationals is now in the history books. We continue to witness a growth in tennis interest as more and more juniors are added to the tennis landscape. Continue to shine tennis diamonds.
