Top tennis juniors are giving back in a big way. Anthony Burrows Jr., Dentry Mortimer Jr., Maddisan Bowleg, Sierra Rodgers and Mikellan Bowleg, all took the time to give back into the Play Tennis Bahamas Program at The National Tennis Centre. These players who have in most instances travelled and played tennis internationally are seeding into the next generation of players by using their skill and experience in a great way. The kids in the program enjoy the experience of interacting with the juniors and the juniors experience a fulfilling service opportunity.
Coaches Paula Whitfield, Denise Mortimer, Esther Newton, Barry Usher and Matteo Smith also work with the kids in this impactful program. The rebranded Play Tennis Bahamas allows young kids to play tennis from day one. By removing pricing barriers to the sport and providing all of the equipment, the BLTA has ensured that children who would have not had the opportunity to play tennis can now do so. Development is a pillar on which the administration has been building, block by block. We are seeing the fruits of the labour of the Play Tennis Bahamas program which has been running consistently over the last three years.
The RBC Royal Bank who is proud to support the community is also supporting this Tennis initiative that is touching so many lives.
